AR500 Steel Plate

AR500 steel plate is a high-carbon steel plate with a Brinell Hardness Number (BHN) of between 470-530. AR500 steel plates provide higher impact and abrasion resistance than other common carbon steel plates. Thus, they are widely used in harsh working conditions, including those in mineral, cement, and quarry plants.

Hardness is a basic standard for testing whether a steel plate is wear-resistant. The minimum Brinell Hardness of AR500 steel plate reaches 470 HBW. The addition of significant amounts of carbon, manganese, chromium, and molybdenum contributes to its higher hardness and wear resistance. And after the quenched and tempered heat treatment, the grain structure is changed, and the toughness of the steel plate is enhanced.
